Weekend Without a Phone

Friday night a friend challenged me to have no phone for the weekend. I took the dare and went without it for three days.

I'm definitely doing this more often. Being practically unavailable is very relaxing.

Some things I learned:

  • If someone can't get a hold of me they'll call my girlfriend to find out why.
  • Twitter is way less useful if you can't update by phone (I think they need to make a bigger deal of Tweeting via SMS when you sign up).
  • iPhones really are a lot more than just a phone. Not being able to snap a pic or check e-mail anywhere was weird. It's like a reflex now.
  • I definitely text more than I talk.
Will I do it again? Yeah, absolutely.
